Camelbak Ultra 10 Vest, the ideal hydration system for the Ultra Trail

The Camelbak Ultra 10 Vest has been designed with a specific purpose ..... the Ultra Trail of Mont Blanc !

This year Camelbak has improved it again by making it lighter, stronger and perfectly accessorized to contain all the necessary and mandatory equipment for an Ultra Trail. Whether clothing, gels, headlamp, batteries, survival equipment, everything finds its place without harming the carrying comfort.

It comes in two colors, black and lemon green. Personally, I find the lemon green superb, very visible from far away, not to be neglected for trails in the mountains.

Dorsal Accessory

The Camelbak Ultra 10 Vest features a 2-liter hydration pocket, a large inner pocket and 4 outside pockets.

The large interior contains 3 mesh pockets, one is zipped and has a hook to secure your keys so you don't lose them while running.

This maximum accessibility of the internal pocket helps you to store all your material in an orderly way. No waste of time when looking for your headlamp, fleece or gel.

One of the 4 exterior pockets closes with a zipper to hold your most requested objects, such as gels, bars, headlamp ...

Also note the presence on the back of a quick release attach for your telescopic poles.

Front Accessory

The hydration tube passes through two loops. The first is located on the top of the shoulder strap and the second is elastic and is situated at the bottom of the shoulder strap to facilitate the removal of the tube while running.

The Camelbak Ultra 10 Vest closes with two quick-release adjustable straps to maximize the wear during the run.

Each of the two shoulder straps contains a multitude of pockets, for the mobile phone, for the gels but also two large pockets that can hold flexible water bottles, bringing the quantity of water transported up to 3 liters.

I like this principle of flexible bottle on the front of the vest. First because it increases your autonomy but also because it facilitates the balancing of the vest to preserve the runner's back with too much weight on it. The right shoulder strap also contains a rescue whistle, practical and mandatory for Ultra Trails.

Carrying

The Camelbak Ultra 10 Vest has been designed to meld with the rider.

Once adjusted close to the body, even charged to its maximum, it's forgotten after a few minutes.

Camelbak has done a lot of research on materials to make the Ultra 10 Vest extremely lightweight with a high capacity material.

The lateral settings make the Ultra 10 Vest even more precise and adapted to the morphology of each runner. The aeration is optimal thanks to the use of mesh on the front and back of the vest.

 The new valve developed by Camelbak offers 20% more flow than the old one, nice when you are out of breath, not having to suck super strong to hydrate yourself.
