I would like to thanks  Camelbak  and Robijns for putting those two flasks at my disposal to perform this test.

The idea of this article is to provide a brief test, concise and objective.

Camelbak Eddy VS Camelbak Chute

First impressions

For both flasks, the quality is excellent according to the tradition of Camelbak.

Flasks bodies, as well as the two caps, have been designed to withstand heavy use.

The two bottles can be washed in the dishwasher, wich is great for an intensive use.

Everyday Use

Camelbak Eddy Bottle, thanks to its foldable water bottle spout, allows to hydrate quickly without spilling. Once the spout folded, the cap will not drip even manhandled at the bottom of you bag.

The Camelbak Chute proposes a cap that unscrews in a quarter turn. Very fast to open and to close it. The spout is wide and provides a big water flow for quick hydration.

The pitch of the screw cap has been built inside the neck to increase the drinking comfort . The plug connects to the handle, this way it doesn't interfere during hydration or filling.

Which one to choose?

For a hike or a home use, I'd choose the Camelbak Chute who offers, once the cap opend, a very quick flow and an easy filling.

For a more sporting use, where you will be have to drink very often, the Camelbak Eddy is my favorite.

For example, during your swim training, if you want to hydrate between each series, the Camelbak Eddy will be perfect. No need to close the cap, even if even if the bottle is reversed, nothing flows out until a suction is performed.

It also allows you to drink by holding the bottle right and sucking through the provided straw.  Very convenient to quickly drink while reading your training program or listen to your coach, looking into his eyes.

In conclusion

Two high quality bottles with great build quality adapted to various uses. The Camelbak Eddy for sports use with sustained hydration while the Camelbak Chute for everyday use, hiking, mountaineering ...
